Can I bid on a disposals tender without CSD registration?

Is CSD registration compulsory to bid on government tenders?

Yes. Every supplier doing business with an organ of state must be registered on the Central Supplier Database. Most bid documents ask for your CSD number or a CSD summary report, and a bid without one is usually returned unread.

How much does CSD registration cost?

Nothing. Registration is free on the National Treasury portal at secure.csd.gov.za. You need your ID, company registration details and banking information. We charge only if you would rather we complete and verify it for you.

How long does CSD registration take?

The online form takes about an hour if your documents are in order. Verification against CIPC, SARS and your bank is automated and usually completes within a few days, though a mismatch in company or banking details will hold it up.
