This guide walks you through each section of your profile and explains why each piece of information matters.

Section 1: Company Information

This is the basic information about your registered business entity.

Registered Company Name*

Your official company name as registered with CIPC. This must match your CIPC registration exactly.

Example: Acme Trading (Pty) Ltd

Trading Name (if different)

The name you trade under if it's different from your registered name.

Example: Acme Supplies

Company Registration Number*

Your CIPC registration number. Format: YYYY/NNNNNN/NN

Company Type*

Select your company type from the dropdown.

Year Established

The year your company was registered or started trading.

Example: 2020

Company Description

A brief description of your business (150-300 words). This appears on your public profile.

Tip: Have your CIPC registration certificate handy. You'll need the exact details to ensure your verification is successful later.

Section 2: Contact Information

Your business contact details and physical address.

Primary Contact Name*

The main person buyers should contact for business enquiries.

Example: John Smith

Contact Email*

Business email for receiving enquiries and notifications.

Example: john@acmetrading.co.za

Contact Phone*

Business phone number including area code.

Example: +27 11 123 4567

Physical Address*

Your business physical address. Required for certain verifications.

Example: 123 Main Street, Sandton, Johannesburg, 2196

Postal Address

If different from physical address.

Example: P.O. Box 1234, Sandton, 2146

Website

Your company website URL (if you have one).

Section 3: Tax & Compliance

Your tax registration and compliance details. These are used for verification.

VAT Number

Your SARS VAT registration number (if VAT registered). Format: 4XXXXXXXXX

Example: 4012345678

Income Tax Number

Your SARS Income Tax reference number.

Example: 9012345678

PAYE Number

Your employer PAYE reference number (if you have employees).

Example: 7012345678

UIF Number

Your Unemployment Insurance Fund reference number.

Example: U12345678

Data Security: Your tax numbers are encrypted and stored securely. They're only used for verification purposes and are never shared with third parties without your consent.

Section 4: B-BBEE & Ownership

Your B-BBEE status and ownership information. This affects tender preference points.

B-BBEE Level

Your current B-BBEE contributor level (1-8 or Non-compliant).

B-BBEE Certificate Expiry

When your current B-BBEE certificate expires. Set alerts for renewal.

Annual Turnover

Your most recent financial year turnover. Determines EME/QSE status.

Black Ownership %

Percentage of Black ownership in your company.

Example: 51%

Black Women Ownership %

Percentage of Black women ownership in your company.

Youth Ownership %

Percentage of ownership by people under 35.

Disabled Ownership %

Percentage of ownership by people with disabilities.

EME Status: If your turnover is under R10 million, you qualify as an Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) and can use an affidavit instead of a B-BBEE certificate. Okhantu can help you generate this affidavit.
