Frequently asked questions

Who needs a COIDA letter of good standing?
Employers. Most tenders and many corporate clients require a current letter of good standing from the Compensation Fund before they will contract with you.
How long is a letter of good standing valid?
Usually 12 months. It is tied to the annual Return of Earnings cycle, so it has to be renewed each year rather than obtained once.
When is the Return of Earnings due?
The Return of Earnings season opens on 1 April each year. Submitting late attracts an automatic penalty on your assessment and puts your letter of good standing at risk, so it is worth doing early in the window rather than at the deadline.
Are the Compensation Fund's own charges included in the price?
No. Any assessment amounts owed to the Fund itself are for your account and are not included. Assessments vary per employer, which is why they cannot be bundled into a fixed price.
What if I am not registered with the Compensation Fund yet?
Registration is handled as part of this service if you are not yet registered, along with the return of earnings submission prepared from your figures and the letter application itself.

Please note

This is an agent service with the Compensation Fund. Any assessment amounts owed to the Fund itself are for your account and are not included in this price. Fund processing times can occasionally extend beyond our control.
